I was born on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil but I grew up in different states across the country and that shaped my universe. “My roots are feet that take me everywhere,” I once heard in a debate where they questioned if I, Anne, was white or black. My universe took form with a camera in hand. I believe photography and films can and should inspire new perspectives of the future, freeing small breaths of imagination and possibility. I live balancing advertising and art, and I like the path I’ve been building.
Along this journey, I’ve directed films for Azul Airlines (one of the largest aviation companies in Brazil), Google Arts & Culture (signing the first gallery about funk in the platform’s history), and Arnette, the Italian eyewear brand. My work was also part of the exhibition Jamaica, Jamaica! (conceived by Cité de la Musique – Philharmonie de Paris, curated by Sébastien Carayol), shown in Brazil and Paris, and of the Museum of Tomorrow — the most visited in the country — with Relíquias do Funk (O Passinho). I’ve also been published in the books MESA – working with some of the most talented professionals of our time, Todos os Gêneros (by Itaú Cultural), and Sob Frequência (photography and visual research on sound system culture).
Today, my portfolio gathers photography, creative direction, and scene direction for brands such as Nike, Adidas, Budweiser, Rider, Inner Circle, Mercado Livre, Droga Raia, Converse All Star, Avon, and also a pitch film for Brazil’s public health system (SUS), entirely created and produced with artificial intelligence.
Beyond that, there are my collaborations with music artists. I’m passionate about music, if I’m not studying, creating, or thinking, I’m not myself. That love led me to photograph my idols, and today I’m part of the official coverage of shows and backstage at Brazil’s biggest festivals, including Rock in Rio (Brazil and Lisbon), The Town, and Lollapalooza. But that’s another story.
